THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH
March 2022
As we come towards the end of February, by the Grace of God it looks like we are winning the battle against COVID -19. We thank the Lord for all His Goodness and His Mercies towards us. The invasion in Ukraine has once again brought a level of instability in the world today; these are worrying times, however we are thankful that we have a God who is in control.
In difficult situations such as this, as Christians we look to God for help and direction, that in all His purpose may be fulfilled. The Lord says in Isaiah 14:24, “The Lord Almighty has sworn, ’Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen’ “Men in position of authority may have a desire to establish their power but as Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his step”. We can take comfort in the fact that the Lord Almighty is in control, and He will be with His people as He said to Joshua in Joshua 1:9, “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
On the assembly front we are glad to be back in the Hall and enjoy the blessings of collective worship and fellowship. As we look forward, preparations are ongoing for the Conference which is scheduled on the 12th of March. Brother Jack Hay will then continue in ministry from Sunday to Wednesday @ 7:30 pm in the Hall, and on Thursday the meeting will be on Zoom as our brother has got some personal matters to attend to for which he needs to be in Perth.
During the month of March, we also plan to commence our Duthie Park service. God willing, we will have our first service on the 13th of March at 3:00 pm. We thank God once again that we will be able to proclaim the message of the Gospel. We also plan to hold the fellowship meeting which was previously postponed on the 2nd of April.
There have been a few instances of assembly members catching COVID, but thankfully the symptoms have been mild and all of them are feeling much better. We ask that you all continue to uphold the assembly in your prayers and especially at this time remember the believers and the situation in Ukraine, that the Lord may bring peace in that area.
